Limiting the Lifetime of Social Media Posts

I turned on Automated post deletion on Mastodon. The reasons of why I think a limitation vs. posterity is a good thing have already been detailed by me a couple of days ago.

I’ve set the limitation to 90 days, as explained in the post linked above.

I didn’t limit it when I registered for a Mastodon account some days ago, because I wanted to settle in first and then decide if I want to make irrevocable changes. But reading about many people complaining about Mastodon and it’s differences to Twitter, encouraged me to do the right thing.

Not everything has to exist eternally; forgetting is natural state.
